When did you start with Acden?: April 2013. I met one of the HSE coordinators that worked for Acden Holdings while completing my Occupational Health and Safety (OHS certificate). He recommended Acden and thought I might be a good fit for an upcoming opening. I was 22 years old when I started working here and now almost 6 years later, I am so happy that I took his advice!
What was your career path to get where you are now?: I started as a junior HSE Coordinator dedicated to supporting Acden Facilities. Over the years I was given the opportunity to work as an HSE Advisor with the rest of the Acden wholly owned companies and some of our partner companies. Providing support to such a wide range of business types allowed me to learn so much about Acden. One of the business units I frequently supported was Acden Tech Sonic. I enjoyed being dedicated to health and safety but had always been interested in business management and operations. I expressed my interest to Acden Tech Sonic and applied myself to some business education and was given the opportunity to move from Acden Holdings as an HSEQ Advisor over to Acden Tech Sonic as an Operations Coordinator. Now I work in the exciting world of business while applying my health and safety experience every day! Best of both worlds.
Can you share your thoughts on Acden as a company, overall?: Acden is a very welcoming place to work. There is opportunity for growth and I get a great sense of pride from working here. Acden also really cares for their employees; they promote work- life balance and offer great benefits packages.
What are the main services offered by your current business unit?: Specialized ultrasonic industrial cleaning - the green way. We remove heavy oils, bitumen, grease and other refinery-grade contaminants from large and small-scale processing equipment using water-based products and ultrasonic technology.
What do you like most about your role?: Working closely with our front-line employees and interacting with our clients. Acden Tech Sonic has an awesome team and building strong, lasting relationships with our clients is key to our success.
Can you share a significant experience you’ve had while here at Acden?: Yes, I’ll tell you about my favorite meeting and a great example of how hard work leads to success. I had an opportunity to meet an Executive of an Acden partner company while preparing for a client assessment. He told me about the history of the business and how he started it over 40 years ago with one skid steer. That company is now one of the leading civil construction companies in the oilfields - a conversation I’ll never forget and some real motivation. This company was later selected to move forward with a contract bid after a considerable effort from the team which was a great experience to be a part of!
