Acden is the only producer of Kevlar® industrial knitwear in Western Canada. Twenty times stronger than steel, these industrial protectors are made of 100% Kevlar® – a synthetic fiber that is fire retardant as well as slash and puncture resistant.
Wholly-owned by Acden, our manufacturing services previously operated as Chip Manufacturing. During the 1990s, the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation and Suncor Energy Inc. developed a working relationship and together began plans to establish a manufacturing facility in the community of Fort Chipewyan, Alberta. Today, the company provides a viable economic opportunity for the community members of Fort Chipewyan.
