Without the commitment and dedication of our team members we would never be where we are today. This is why we’ve decided to speak directly with employees to hear more about their experiences at Acden. Next is our conversation with Wendell – read on to learn more about his career journey.

Starting Position: Heavy Equipment Technician

Current Position: General Manager

When did you start with Acden? April 15th, 2008

What was your career path to get where you are now? I started off as a Heavy Equipment Technician and did that for 3 months then was offered the position of a Shop Supervisor until December 2011 where I later became the General Manager.

Can you share your thoughts on Acden as a company, overall? There are many aspects of Acden that make them a great employer to work for including supporting their employees through growth opportunities, maintaining safety certifications hosted by our own HSEQ department and training workshops. Having routine safety meetings and training really signifies Acden’s commitment to the safety of their employees.

What are the main services offered by your current business unit? Acden Fleet specializes in light and heavy truck service and repair. Our services are offered for both the public and our clients.

What do you like most about your role? The most rewarding part of my role is that I am able to interact with so many individuals on a daily basis including my team members, clients and other business units at Acden by providing support and solutions to varying tasks. I believe that my team members have made Acden Fleet what it is today, they provide so much knowledge and add value to our business that we can provide to our clients. Not knowing what will happen next, and being faced with new challenges is what makes things more exciting at our shop.

Can you share a significant experience you’ve had while here at Acden? It would have to be when we moved from our old facility at the Gregoire Industrial Park to our new location at 220 Taiganova Crescent. Having a new facility with additional space allowed us to expand our service offerings to the public that brought in a lot more clients. We were also part of the re-branding process of Acden and witnessed all of the changes.
